The effectiveness of bamboo in reducing CO₂ is well established. Bamboo has the ability to approximately sequester/reduce 600 tons of CO₂ per hectare over a 30 year period (direct). This means an average of 20 ton per year! Due to its rapid growth and longevity it is one of the best crops in class.
But this is just the beginning. Once the bamboo industry has been fully established the triple effect becomes clear! With one hectare of managed bamboo plantation up to 1.000 tons of CO₂ could be reduced.
